NEWS:

Alexander's new cd under the Piano classics label with works of Rachmaninov, Scriabin and Prokofiev has been released!

Upcoming engagements in 2011 include concerts in solo recitals in the De Doelen Rotterdam and in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Concerto performances include concerts with the San Antonio Symphony, Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra, Wroclaw Philharmonic and the State Symphony Orchestra of Russia.

2012 highlights also include performances with the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (ZaterdagMatinee Series at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw), The Hague Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony, Auckland Philharmonia and Christchurch Symphony, Tasmania Symphony, Polish National Radio Orchestra, Brabants Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, a tour of Mexico in April and solo recitals in Taiwan, Poland, USA, as well as solo tours of Australia and Russia.

In May 2013 Alexander will make his debut with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, playing all concerti of Rachmaninov and the Rhapsody, conducted by Neeme Järvi.

Recently:

Alexander has recently returned from his tour of Japan where he performed seven concerts, including performances with the NHK orchestra and Maestro Ashkenazy. He then continued on to give recitals around Australia before going to the USA to perform at Chautauqua Institution and once again with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl.

In light of the recent Japan disaster we were honoured to have Mr. Ouchi and Ms. Inui from Japan Arts join us over the Easter break in Berlin. We are glad to confirm Alexander's tour of Japan in June will be going ahead as originally planned.

Alexander's latest recording of the Chopin concerti has just been released! Recorded with the AUKSO orchestra in the courtyard of the Wawel Castle in Krakow Poland last June, the live recording marks Chopin's anniversary.

NEW INVITATIONS:

*Alexander has been invited to perform the complete Rachmaninov concerti with Neeme Järvi and Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in May 2013! He will also be recording these concerti with Maestro Järvi and the Estonian National Symphony.

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying the start of the festive season. Alexander has just returned from Moscow where he performed the Prokofiev Piano Concerto number 3 with the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra and Vladimir Spivakov conducting. In November Alexander made his highly praised debut at the Musikverein in Vienna with the Norrkopping Symphony Orchestra where he played Prokofiev Piano Concerto number 2.

10th December: Grieg Piano concerto in Guildhall Portsmouth with the Bournemouth Orchestra with Kirill Karabits conducting.

New Invitations

Alexander has been invited to play the Prokofiev 2nd piano concerto with the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alan Buribayev. There will be two performances, one in Norrköping Sweden on 17th November 2010 and one in Vienna at the Musikverein on 19th November 2010.

Alexander has also been re invited to perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the 2011 season.

In July Alexander recorded both Chopin concerti and a solo recital at the Royal Wawel Castle in Krakow in celebration of Chopin's anniversary. He also made his debut at the Colmar International festival in France playing Tchaikovsky piano concerto no. 1 with Maestro Spivakov.

Following this Alexander made his debut with the New York Philharmonic over three concerts at the Lincoln Centre in Avery Fisher Hall. He performed Liszt piano concerto no.1 with Maestro Tovey. Alexander continued his journey also performing at Chautauqua Institution and holding masterclasses. He will be featured in an hour long documentary on Chautauqua which will go live on national television across the USA early next year.

After closing New York Philharmonics residency at the Bravo Vail Valley Festival in Colorado with Liszt Piano Concerto no. 1, Alexander went on to open the festival "Chopin and his Europe" in Warsaw. He performed Chopin piano concerto no. 1 with the Wroclaw Philharmonic. This festival presented a wonderful selection of artists including Martha Argerich, Mischa Maisky, Nikolai Lugansky, Denis Matsuev, Arcadi Volodos, Dang Thai Son, Dina Yoffe, Joshua Bell, Stanislaw Bunin.

In Australia Alexander has been nominated for the Helpmann award for his performance of the Prokofiev piano concerto no. 3 with the Sydney Symphony and Vladimir Ashkenazy!

Alexander has been invited to play with Maestro Ashkenazy in Japan with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in 2011. The two will share the stage once again playing Prokofiev's 2nd piano concerto. He has also been invited to play with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in April 2011. In addition he has also recently been invited by Vladimir Spivakov to perform with him and the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra in Kiev, Moscow, Paris, Reykjavik and at the Colmar Festival in France. Other new invitations include recitals in Vancouver and Moscow.

Welcome to Alexander Gavrylyuk’s first newsletter! I hope this finds you well and enjoying the start of 2010.

This year marks the beginning of many new opportunities for Alexander including his debuts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana at the Lugano Festival, the Lucerne Orchestra, Bournemouth Philharmonic and the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra.

Alexander will also make his solo recital debut at the Royal Wawel Castle in Poland. He will be recording both Chopin concerti there for Chopin’s anniversary, the Melbourne Recital Centre and the Colmar International Music Festival in France, Cdernobbio Festival in Italy.

In November 2009, Alexander recorded the complete Prokofiev concerti with Maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy and the Sydney Symphony. The recordings are due to be released this summer.
Alexander is working together with ‘Opportunity Cambodia’ to raise money for children in Cambodia. A charity concert will take place in June 2010 in Sydney to raise funds for the cause. Keep checking the website for more details.
